5th Annual Work Days Weekend – Local missionary work weekend benefited Cornerstone Manor (Women’s Shelter), and St. Luke’s Mission of Mercy (Homeless Rehabilitation Center). 80 volunteers painted, repaired, and rebuilt dwellings for these local missions.

May 2000

Second Annual Memorial Day Parade Food Drive – Collected non-perishable items for the local food pantries. Originally spawned from the idea of a 11 year old youth, this year the program collected 101 bags of food for local area pantries.

August 2001

Back to School Back-Packs – In response to the request to assist local needy families, 104 back-packs filled with school supplies for less fortunate High School students were delivered to the area schools for distribution.

September 2001

Fifth Annual Clothing Drive – The most successful yet! Over 7000 bags of clothing were collected from willing people throughout the community and distributed to half a dozen clothing shelters in the region.

October 2001

Crop Walk, Walk-a-thon for Hunger – Third year of participation for CIA. Record numbers of walkers to part in this community mission project.

November 2001

Volunteer Craft Fair Fund Raiser – The November “Christmas in the Country” craft show was manned by over 40 CIA volunteers who donated their hourly wages to benefit the Churches In Action general mission fund.

December 2001

Fifth Annual Caroling at Group Homes – Volunteers spread the joy of the holiday season to our brothers and sisters in local area community homes for the developmentally disabled. Over 125 people participated from both member and non-member churches.
