Our History - 2006 | March 2006 Undies Sunday - Collect new underwear and distribute to four local missions. Update… over 3,300 undies collected. May 2006 Work Weekend - St Luke's Mission of Mercy - Complete home makeover… Plus general cleaning, painting & repairs. June 2006 Haiti - Assembled 660 school kits & hygiene kits. August 2006 Back to School Back-Packs - Another annual event ! Gathering, collection, assembly and distribution of school supplies for the High Schools in the area. September 2006 Food Drive - Collection of food for distribution to local missions. October 2006 Crop Walk, Walk-a-thon for Hunger - Seventh year of participation for CIA, including volunteer walkers and manned checkpoints. November 2005 Volunteer Craft Fair Fund Raiser - The November "Christmas in the Country" craft show was manned by CIA volunteers who donated their hourly wages to benefit the Churches In Action general mission fund. December 2006 Tenth Annual Caroling at Group Homes - Volunteer carolers of all ages spread the joy of the holiday season to our brothers and sisters in eight local area community homes for the developmentally disabled. A wonderful opportunity for families to reach out during the holidays. |
