Our History - 2002
March 2002
CIA Medical Mission - To be held every fourth Saturday of the month from 10:30am - 12:30 pm at Hamburg Presbyterian Church. The goal is to provide compassionate and practical medical help to those in need. This includes meeting basic health needs or equipping people tools to become self sufficient. The Grand Opening was March 23, 2002.
April 2002
"Taste of Home" Fundraiser - An opportunity to provide well balanced meals to those less fortunate throughout the community.
May 2002
Work Weekend - Operation Good Neighbor -
We helped to fix up Operation Good Neighbor, a food kitchen, pantry and clothing outlet that represents Christ to the poor and hungry. It was an effort of loving support.
Personal Care Products Drive and Food Collection at Member Churches - An annual Memorial Day mission project, this year devoted to collecting personal care and canned goods for the needy in our own community.
August 2002
Back to School Back-Packs - Another annual event ! Gathering, collection, assembly and distribution of school supplies for the High Schools in the area.
October 2002
Crop Walk, Walk-a-thon for Hunger - Fourth year of participation for CIA. Record numbers of walkers to part in this community mission project.
December 2002
Sixth Annual Caroling at Group Homes -120 volunteer carolers spread the joy of the holiday season to our brothers and sisters in eight local area community homes for the developmentally disabled.
