Our History - 2000
Month 2000
4th Annual Work Days Weekend - St. Luke's Mission of Mercy - Our 100 volunteers across both days donated their time talents and treasures in a real show of Christian faith working together to help our neighbors in need.

May 2000
Memorial Day Parade Food Drive - Collected food during the communities Memorial Day Parade. This event was conceived, created and run by one of our 11-year-old members. Her hard work collected over 100 bags of food to be donated in honor of our American Service men and women.

Autumn 2000
Personal Care Products Drive - Over 200 bags of Personal Care Products, (soap, toothpaste, shampoo, etc.) were collected to be given to local soup kitchens and homeless shelters. In our dealings with these type of organizations it was recognized that these items are usually neglected and in great demand. The donations collected helped eight local shelters stock a 3 month supply.

September 2000
Crop Walk, Walk-a-thon for Hunger - The second year of participation for CIA. By planning with the youth groups of our respective, record numbers of walkers took part in this community mission project.

November 2000
Volunteer Craft Fair Fund Raiser - The November "Christmas in the Country" craft show was manned by over 30 CIA volunteers who donated their hourly wages to benefit the Churches In Action general mission fund.

December 2000
Fourth Annual Caroling at Group Homes - Volunteers spread the joy of the holiday season to our brothers and sisters in local area community homes for the developmentally disabled.
