Support of the Loving Laura Project
The project started to give Laura a peaceful resting place after she was murdered after years of abuse at the hands of her mother and brother. Laura was 23, but had the mental capability of an 8 year old. She was defenseless against the evil that consumed her life. Loving Lauraprovides a strong voice that speaks out with a bold statement against the atrocities waged against a beautiful, innocent girl. This year the ‘Angel of Hope’ memorial statue named in honnor of Laura will stand as a symbol of hope for all who have lost a child for any reason. It will be placed at Forest Lawn Cemetery in 2018.
CIA and its volunteers goes in to a different mission each year to give it a recharge for all the great work they're doing. 2018 will be held at Vive La Casa at 50 Wyoming Ave, Buffalo, NY 14215. Volunteers will paint, construct radiator covers, repair electrical and plumbing problems, share in fellow ship and so much more. Whatever the needs of the mission are we have a great team of volunteers ready to help.
Collecting a forgotten necessity for those who need it most. Our member churches collect NEW men's, women's and children's underwear during the month of September. We then donate to 6-8 local missions.
CIA volunteers help raise funds at the Christmas in the Country show at the Erie County fair grounds. Volunteers sell bags at the fair to support our mission.
A high point of our Christmas season is getting to go to local group homes to carol. We sing our favorite Christmas songs, share fellowship and cookies with the residents.
